About Our Surf Lessons

Our surf lessons run every day in Pembrokeshire from April until November, offering flexible sessions designed for London adventurers. Choose from two daily lessons tailored to different skill levels and schedules:

Morning Session: 10am - 12pm Afternoon Session: 2pm - 4pm

Perfect for weekend warriors escaping the city, our lessons adapt to the latest surf conditions. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, we'll match you with the ideal beach and instructor.

All equipment is provided, including high-quality wetsuits and surfboards, so you can travel light from London and dive straight into the action.

Lesson availability varies with season and weather, ensuring you always get the best possible surfing experience.

We have been running surf lessons in Pembrokeshire, Wales for the past 20 years. We have been teaching beginners, school groups and running instructor surf courses throughout the UK and worldwide.

ABOUT OUR SURF LESSONS

Our surf lessons run every day in Pembrokeshire (Wales) from April until November, with two sessions each day:

Morning SURF Lessons (10am - 12pm)

Afternoon SURF Lessons (2pm - 4pm)

Lesson times are subject to availability, season, and weather conditions.

All the equipment is provided, and we have a full range of new high-quality wetsuits and surfboards available

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Our surf lessons cost £40 per person for a 2-hour beginner or intermediate surf lesson.

WHAT BEACHES DO WE RUN SURF LESSON ON?

WHAT BEACHES DO WE TEACH ON?

Main Season - June to August

You will mostly find us at Freshwater West and Manorbier Beach. These beaches have the most consistent waves to learn to surf on in Wales.

Early & Late Season - April to May / September to November

You are more likely to find us all over Pembrokeshire as we pick the best waves during the larger swells and stronger winds that come around at this time of year. Freshwater West, Manorbier Beach, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Broad Haven South, Newgale, and more.

In all cases, the exact beach that your lesson will take place at will be decided upon the day before and will depend on the conditions forecasted for that day. We will pick the best and safest beach for learning and meet you at the beach 15 minutes prior to your surf lesson.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR SURF LESSON?

You can book lessons online or call our Surf Shop on 01646 680070. We are open from 9am to 5pm every day during the season. Once booked we will send a confirmation email with all the information regarding your surf lesson

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR SURF LESSON?

Swimsuit and/or board shorts.

Beach shoes/or flip flops.

Beach towel.

Sunscreen.

A bottle of water.

Warm clothes to change into.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Our instructors are all fully qualified ISA Surf and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) coaches and SLSGB Beach Lifeguards who will run you through all the stages of learning how to surf in Pembrokeshire. Before your surf lesson, you will be met by your friendly Outer Reef surf instructor and get a chance to meet the rest of your surf group. They will introduce you to the equipment, how to surf it and how to catch a wave safely. Our instructors will ensure you learn to surf properly and have a great time at some of the most beautiful beaches in Pembrokeshire.

FAQ’S:

Q: Do I need any previous experience?

A: No experience is required; you just need to be able to swim 25 meters.

Q: Is this a beginner's lesson?

A: This lesson is aimed at anybody wanting to start surfing, or ideal as a refresher for anyone who has not been in the water for a while.

Q: Can I do a lesson in December or January?

A: No, our teaching season runs from April until November.
