Duration, Prerequisites & What You Need

Course Duration

  • 8 weeks of professional outdoor instructor training
  • 4 days per week
  • Usually 9am to 5pm
  • Based in Pembrokeshire, Wales
  • Training locations vary with conditions

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Good level of fitness in water and on land
  • Swim 200m in a pool within 5 minutes
  • Achieve 400m swim in under 8 minutes by the end of the course
  • Run 200m in under 1 minute
  • Strong teamwork, leadership and communication skills

You do not need previous qualifications or to be highly experienced in every activity. The course is designed to help you gain confidence, experience and practical skills throughout the programme.
