Learn to surf on one of Pembrokeshire’s best-known open beaches with Outer Reef. Newgale offers a classic West Wales surf setting, with a long beach, Atlantic exposure and plenty of space when conditions are suitable.
Our beginner, family and progression sessions are planned around swell, wind, tide and group ability, with boards, wetsuits and friendly qualified coaching included.

Newgale can be a brilliant place to learn when conditions line up. We choose the safest, most useful part of the beach for the group and may move the session if another Pembrokeshire beach is better on the day.
A Big Open Beach With A Proper Pembrokeshire Surf Feel
Newgale is known for its long sweep of beach, open views and Atlantic character. When the conditions are right, it gives beginners and families plenty of space to learn, practise and enjoy a classic West Wales beach day.
Because it is exposed, conditions can change quickly. Outer Reef checks the swell, wind and tide before every session and may occasionally use another Pembrokeshire beach when that gives a safer or better lesson.

Why We Do Not Force Every Lesson To Newgale
Newgale is an exposed beach. Some days it is ideal; on others, wind, swell or tide can make Freshwater West, Manorbier or another Pembrokeshire location more suitable.
That flexibility helps us keep sessions safer and more productive, especially for first-time surfers and families.
