National Trust Licensed

Licensed Coasteering in a National Trust Coastal Setting

Outer Reef is licensed to operate coasteering activities within the National Trust-managed Stackpole coastline, including the Stackpole Quay and Barafundle Bay area.

Stackpole is one of Pembrokeshire’s most impressive coastal estates, with cliffs, beaches, woodland, lakes, wildlife habitat, walking routes and access towards Barafundle Bay.

This licence matters because it helps protect the coastline while allowing visitors to experience it responsibly with trained local guides who understand access, conditions, conservation and safety.

Why Stackpole Quay?

One of the Best Coasteering Locations in Pembrokeshire

Stackpole Quay is a spectacular base for coasteering because of its limestone coastline, clear water, rocky gullies, sea caves and dramatic natural features.

The surrounding coastline towards Barafundle Bay gives the area a real sense of adventure. It feels wild, scenic and memorable while still being accessible as part of a guided session.

Many visitors combine their coasteering experience with a walk around Stackpole Estate, a visit towards Barafundle Bay or a wider South Pembrokeshire adventure day.

Planning Your Visit

Visiting Stackpole Quay & Barafundle Bay

Stackpole Quay is a popular visitor location in South Pembrokeshire with parking, toilets and access to coastal walks. The Boathouse tea-room is nearby, making the area a strong base for a full adventure day.

Roads around the estate can be narrow and the area can be busy in peak holiday periods, so it is worth allowing plenty of time before your session.

Barafundle Bay is reached on foot from the Stackpole area and is one of Pembrokeshire’s most famous beaches. Coasteering routes depend on the sea state, tide, weather and group ability.

Family adventure

"What an absolutely incredible day! We booked the family coasteering at Stackpole Quay with our 10 and 12-year-olds, and it exceeded every expectation. The instructors were phenomenal - so professional yet fun, making everyone feel safe while pushing us just enough out of our comfort zones. Jumping off those cliffs into the crystal-clear water was the highlight of our Pembrokeshire holiday. 25+ years of experience really shows - we felt completely secure the entire time. Already planning our return trip!"

Wonderful experience

"I've done coasteering all over the UK, but Outer Reef's Stackpole Quay experience is in a league of its own. The route they took us on was absolutely epic - hidden sea caves, challenging cliff scrambles, and some serious jumps that got the adrenaline pumping. What sets them apart is their local knowledge - they know every rock, every tide, every secret spot along this stunning Pembrokeshire coastline. The gear was top-notch, and the guides were legends. This is proper adventure tourism at its finest!"

Stag Party Group  TRAINING

"Booked coasteering for my stag do, and it was the perfect choice! Eight of us tackled the Stackpole Quay route, and every single person said it was the best part of the weekend. The instructors were brilliant - kept us safe but let us have proper fun. The cliff jumping was insane, the sea caves were like something from a movie, and the whole Pembrokeshire coast looked incredible. £45 per person was an absolute steal for 3 hours of pure adventure.
