  • All equipment required for the activities
  • Professional, experienced and qualified guides and instructors

We create individualised itineraries for all of our weekend adventure break activities taking into account the weather forecast, wind and tide times to ensure that you have the best possible experience with us in and on the water. We recommend arriving on a Friday, as your activities will take place on Saturday and Sunday. You will receive your detailed itinerary (via email) a few days before your arrival in Pembrokeshire.

Example Itinerary*:

DAY 1 (Friday) - Arrive at your accommodation and settle in before your activities start the next day. Our team have spent years exploring Pembrokeshire and are happy to offer recommendations for a couple of hours of exploring after your arrival.

DAY 2 (Saturday)  - Meet our team of instructors at around 9 30am for your first activity. Depending on the conditions and weather forecast we may start off with a surfing lesson at Freshwater West. Or if it’s a beautiful flat calm morning we may kick off with a SUP Session. After lunch we will jump in the water for our second activity of the day. Your instructor will help you hone this morning’s skills and work on new ones. Each day tends to finish around 4pm.

DAY 3 (Sunday) - We will start our Sunday morning off with an adrenaline fuelled coasteering session at Stackpole Quay followed by a leisurely lunch. We will then finish off our action packed weekend with a Coasteering session from the idyllic Stackpole Quay. Say farewell to your instructors at around 4pm and reminisce on your awesome weekend on the journey home!

*The actual itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, weather conditions and forecasts, tides, etc.

Pembrokeshire is a wonderful part of West Wales to spend a weekend! Our team at Outer Reef have over 100 combined years spent living and exploring our little piece of paradise.

Here are our recommendations on where to accommodate your family or group for your activity weekend;

  • ‘Stay Pembrokeshire’ offers an impressive array of holidays lets and rooms suitable for any budget
  • Gupton Farm Surf Lodge & National Trust CampSite offers the perfect coastal escape for adventurous guests who want to enjoy the outdoors and meet up with friends and family. You’ll find lots of things to do right on your doorstep. Hike along the Pembrokeshire coast path, go wildlife watching at the nearby bird hide, or head straight to the beach. This wild, sandy stretch is adored by adventurers and nature lovers alike. With consistent swell and strong waves, the beach is regarded as one of Wales’ best surfing spots.
  • The quaint town of Pembroke is very central and offers a good variety of bnb’s and hotels
  • The Stackpole Inn situated in the picturesque village of Stackpole is a stones throw from our favourite paddle boarding location combined with its award-winning beaches and tranquil wooded valleys you can’t go wrong with a stay here
  • Plan a stay in Tenby or Saundersfoot which has everything any weekend break requires; gorgeous beaches for those sunset walks and great value pubs and restaurants for your evenings

Any questions please don't hesitate to contact us!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

STAG AND HEN WEEKENDS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes! All of our lessons and packages include FREE wetsuit hire.

Let us know what dress size you wear (Women’s 6 - 20).

Of course you can! If you only have a shortie or are unsure if it still fits you (don't worry it happens!), let us know what size you are anyway and we can bring you a suit just in case.

  • A swimming costume/shorts
  • A beach towel
  • Some flip flops or shoes to walk over the pebbles (if needed)
  • Any medication you may need (eg. Asthma inhaler)
  • Warm clothes to change into afterwards
  • A big smile and a sense of adventure

SUP: For ease, we recommend using one of ours. They are all top of the range O’shea, Jobe and Finla boards.

Surf: If you have your own board you are more than welcome to use it but we do recommend one of our Foam boards as they really help when you are learning.

SUP: No, you don’t need shoes, bare feet grip very well to our boards. If your trip is from Stackpole Quay, we recommend bringing some shoes that you can leave in a bag at the Quay as there are a few stones to walk over to get to the water's edge.

Surf: You may want to bring some shoes to walk over the pebbles at our surf beaches. These will be left on the beach while we are in the water so please dont bring your most treasured shoes!

The beauty of watersports is that anyone can give them a go! We have taken people on the water from every walk of life imaginable. All we ask is that you can swim at least 25m unaided as this is for your safety.

Yes, in most cases you can absolutely still come along to our weekends. All of our instructors take ‘rescue bags’ out on the water with them so any medications can go into this bag for the duration of the activities. If you would like to discuss this with us further, please drop us an email and a member of the team will contact you.

We do ask that you can swim at least 25m unaided in order to join us on any one of our sessions.

We use various accommodation providers across the South Pembrokeshire area including Geo Domes at The Little Retreat, lovely country houses on the Stackpole Estate and hotel style seaside accommodation in Saundersfoot and Tenby. Most of our accommodation has self catering facilities. Please note, some accommodation will be shared.

Your accommodation will be well signposted with Outer Reef signage for your arrival and you can check in from 4pm. The following day your team of instructors for the week will meet you just outside your accommodation at 9am for a meet & greet.

Most of our accommodation providers offer self catering facilities so you can make your own breakfasts. For lunches we recommend packed lunches or you can buy lunch at our location venues which all offer options for food. We will book a lovely pub for Saturday evening so the whole group can enjoy a meal together.

Of course you can! The majority of women who come along on our weekends come solo. We want to connect you with like minded ladies who enjoy similar activities!

Pembrokeshire and the locations we use for our activities are quite remote. However we can offer advice and recommendations for local public transport options, just get in touch with us prior to your arrival. Once everyone has arrived for the weekend, we recommend car sharing as location venues can be busy.

All our water based activities are subject to weather and swell conditions. We want to make sure you have the best possible experience on the water with us so we will email you the week before your arrival with a rough schedule based on the forecast and will fill in any gaps at the meet & greet.

Freshwater West or Manorbier Beach

Stackpole Quay, Tenby North Beach or Saundersfoot Harbour

Our locations do not have changing facilities so we recommend wearing your swimming costume under your clothes. Tenby North beach has a cold water public shower that is free to use. All other locations do not have shower facilities. We recommend bringing a towel robe or Dry Robe to change after your session.

All of our locations have toilet facilities.

Yes! You can leave your car keys etc in our vans or our lock ups (depending on the location). Outer Reef does not take responsibility for any items left and we do have limited space so please don’t bring your diamond jewellery and massive overnight bags!

1.5hr - 2hrs

Don’t worry, we understand these things happen.

If you cancel more than 3 weeks before your arrival date, we are able to give you a full refund.

If it is less than 3 weeks before, we will endeavour to fill your spot. If we are unable to do so, we will issue a voucher for the value of the activities which you can spend in one of our stores or on activities in future. Unfortunately we are unable to refund the accommodation.

We have a full COVID refund policy in place, so if you test positive or have to self isolate, we can offer you a full refund so you can book with peace of mind.

Please note: we will need a copy of your positive result before we can issue your refund.
