Pembrokeshire Surf School is based at the centre of Wales surfing & we have been teaching people to surf & Sup for over 25 years.

As well as being one of the longest running UK Surf Schools we are the only Surf School in Pembrokeshire to boast not one, but two Ex-Professional Surfers on their Full Time Coaching Team: Head Coach Dean Gough & Senior Coach Gemma Harris.

We love teaching complete beginners but we also teach Intermediate and Advanced Surf Coaching and are the only surf school in Pembrokeshire offering outback, technical & progressive lessons on a daily basis.

We are a Specialist Surf School, in that we only teach Surfing & Paddle Boarding. Our instructors are focused on their Surf Coaching, so if you want to learn to surf or improve your surfing, with Specialist Surf Coaches then look no further.

We are open 12 months of the year, 7 days a week, closed only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day. Whatever the time of year, you can receive the best Surf Coaching from the team at Outer Reef.

He has been committed to developing surf coaches for over 20 years, working together with many leading NGB'S & he specialise in staff training & continuous professional development for surf & sup instructors worldwide. Team Gemma Harris, ISA Level 2 ISA Surf, Sup Coach & SLSGB ILS Lifeguard Trainer Assessor. Gemma holds multiple Welsh, European & international titles.

Sabrina is helping the development of the Outer Reef Surf Scheme. Thomas Hutt, Level 2 ISA Surf, Sup Coach & SLSGB ILS Lifeguard Together we help Clubs, Schools & centres find a clear pathway of development. Jenny Daniel, ISA Surf, Sup Coach & SLSGB Lifeguard, Jenny is also a qualified nurse & we are work closely with the National Trust & local councils. Ben Dart, Level 2 ISA Surf, Sup Coach & SLSGB Lifeguard, Ben has been head coach in some of Europe’s top surf camps.

Outer Reef runs the ultimate surf school in Pembrokeshire. We’ve been developing Welsh surfing for the past 20 years & training & accrediting surf coaches & schools throughout Wales & the UK. So Join our surf lesson, we'll take you to the best beaches with perfect learning waves and will have you riding in no time.

Before your surf courses, you will be met by your friendly Outer Reef surf coach and meet the rest of your surf group, the exact beach will be decided the day before & depends on the conditions on the day, where the waves are ideal for you to learning to surf.

Our Surfing Lessons run every day from April till November in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Morning Lessons (10am - 12pm)
Afternoon Lessons (2pm - 4pm)

Lesson times are subject to availability, season and weather conditions.

All the equipment is provided & we have a full range of new high quality wetsuits & surfboards.
£40 Per Person / 2 Hour surf lesson.

WHAT BEACHES DO WE TEACH ON?

Main Season

You will mostly find us at Freshwater West & Manorbier Beach, Depending on the conditions of the day as these beaches have the most consistent waves to learn on in Pembrokeshire or even Wales.

We will pick the best and safest beach for learning and meet you 15 minutes prior to your lesson.

Early & Late Season

You're more likely to find us all over Pembrokeshire as we pick the best waves during the larger swells and stronger winds that come around this time of year.

Freshwater West, Manorbier, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Broadhaven, Newgale & more

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Our instructors are all fully qualified ISA Surf & Stand Up Paddle Boarding coaches & SLSGB Beach Lifeguards who will run you through all the stages of learning how to surf in Pembrokeshire. They will introduce you to the equipment, how to surf it and how to catch a wave. Safety is a big factor and you will be shown good awareness of your surroundings, whilst at the same time, we can guarantee you will have a great time at some of the most beautiful beaches in Pembrokeshire.
