What surf level is required?
The charter is aimed at confident intermediate and advanced surfers who paddle independently and are comfortable surfing reef waves.
How many surfers are on the boat?
Outer Reef charters are planned for a maximum of 10 surfers, subject to the confirmed vessel and departure.
What is the best time to surf the Banyaks?
Different months offer different combinations of swell, wind and crowd levels. Outer Reef will explain the focus of each scheduled charter before booking.
Will we surf Nias?
Nias may be included when swell, weather, route and charter logistics make it the best option. No individual wave or island can be guaranteed.
How does the Banyaks compare with Mentawai?
The Banyaks and Hinakos generally feel more remote and exploratory, while the Mentawai Islands offer an exceptionally dense collection of famous surf breaks and resort choices.
What boards should I bring?
Most surfers bring their normal shortboard plus a step-up or suitable spare. The best choice depends on ability, forecast and the charter focus.
Are flights included?
International and domestic flights are not normally included. Your quotation will clearly confirm transfers and all included travel services.
Is travel insurance required?
