WHY LEARN TO SURF IN BALI

We have been running surf lessons in Pembrokeshire, Wales for the past 20 years. We have been teaching beginners, school groups and running instructor surf courses throughout the UK and worldwide. Now we're bringing that same expertise and passion to Bali's legendary coastline.

Surfing is a sport determined by weather conditions, so we will always take you to the beaches with the best waves for learning. Bali's generous coastline offers us incredible flexibility – from the mellow beach breaks of Batu Bolong to the more challenging waves at Echo Beach, there's always somewhere perfect for your level. We will have you up and riding your first waves in no time!

ABOUT OUR SURF LESSONS

Our surf lessons run every day in Bali throughout the year, with two sessions each day:

Early Morning Surf Lessons (6am - 8am)

Evening Glass Off Sessions (4pm - 6pm)

Lesson times are subject to availability, season, and weather conditions. We will always take you to the best waves – early morning surfs catch the clean conditions before the wind picks up, while evening glass off sessions offer stunning sunsets and smooth, glassy waves.

All the equipment is provided, and we have a full range of high-quality surfboards and rash guards available.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

This all depends on what package you buy. We offer everything from single surf lessons to week-long surf camps and multi-week instructor training programs.

WHAT BEACHES DO WE RUN SURF LESSON ON?

WHAT BEACHES DO WE TEACH ON?

Dry Season - April to October

You will mostly find us at Batu Bolong and Old Man's. These beaches have the most consistent waves to learn to surf on in Bali, with clean conditions and offshore winds that create perfect learning waves.

Wet Season - November to March

You are more likely to find us exploring different breaks across Canggu as we pick the best waves during the larger swells that come around at this time of year. Batu Bolong, Old Man's, Echo Beach, Berawa, Pererenan, and more.

In all cases, the exact beach that your lesson will take place at will be decided upon the day before and will depend on the conditions forecasted for that day. We will pick the best and safest beach for learning and meet you at the beach 15 minutes prior to your surf lesson.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Our instructors are all fully qualified ISA Surf and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) coaches and SLSGB Beach Lifeguards who will run you through all the stages of learning how to surf in Bali. Before your surf lesson, you will be met by your friendly Outer Reef surf instructor and get a chance to meet the rest of your surf group. They will introduce you to the equipment, how to surf it and how to catch a wave safely. Our instructors will ensure you learn to surf properly and have a great time at some of the most beautiful beaches in Bali.
